VOIP

What are the advantages of using our IP based PBX’s.

  • Our PBX’s have the ability to easily integrate with a VOIP “least cost routing” trunk in order to provide lower cost cellphone and national calls. VOXNETS supplies such trunks and an internet connection is all that is needed to make it work.
  • It is highly adaptable and flexible : New features can be added as they are developed. Trunk providers can be switched if need be.
  •  It runs on standard PC hardware : VOXNETS “IP PBX” servers makes use of standard computer hardware. This means that hardware replacements are not overly expensive and easily obtainable.
  • Our servers software platform does not limit total extensions.
  • Extensions can be connected anywhere on your local network. Separate cabling need not be run.
  • Features such as automated attendant, music on hold as well as voicemail are all standard out the box. Many other features also come standard.. They are further listed below.
  • Our IP PBX costs far less than other competing manufacturers.
  • Our servers are locally maintained and built, so support is always on hand.

IVR System (Interactive Voice Response)

One of the most awesome “out of box” features of the PBX is the IVR system. So, what is an IVR you ask… Basically, the acronym IVR stands for Interactive Voice Response, and the name says it all. It will allow your PBX to answer you incoming calls for you and direct the calls based on a series of voice prompts and key inputs.

An example of a typical IVR would be as follows :

  • Client calls one of your numbers connected to you PBX
  • The IVR in PBX answers the call.
  • The caller is presented with a prerecorded message
    • “Gooday, and thank you for calling Business X”
    • “Please Dial 1 for Sales, 2 for our accounts department or 3 for the switchboard"
    • The caller would then key in 1,2 or 3 based on the desired option.
    • The call will then be directed to the correct extension or ring group.
  1. As mentioned above, the system is highly customizable and flexible.
  2. The voice prompts can be your own voice or professionally recorded ones.
  3. You can also have any number of options to select.
  4. Calls can be sent to mobile numbers, extensions, ring groups, voice mails or other specially recorded messages.

The voicemail system

Another very exciting feature of the PBX is the built in voicemail system, making sure that you never lose any important calls. Again, the system is very functional and customizable. You can choose from standard greetings, or record you own personalized ones. You can also set how many seconds the phone must ring before going to voicemail.

Key features

  • Customizable voicemail messages.
  • You can also be notified by email when there is a message in your mailbox.
    • You can further have the system email you the actual voice message too!
  • You can also check your voicemail from anywhere using any telephone by calling your PBX
  • A web interface is also available to manage your voicemail.

Ring groups

A simple, but very effective feature is the ring group feature. This allows you to assign extensions to any number of ring groups.  An example of this would be for a sales or support team. All the extensions that belong to the sales group would be assigned to the ring group called Sales (Example: #600). If someone would like to transfer a caller to the Sales group, he would transfer to 600. This will then make all extensions in ring group 600 ring.  If no one answers, once can redirect the caller to another ring group, back to the switchboard or anywhere…

Music on hold

The PBX comes standard with a few royalty free tracks that can be played to users whilst they are on hold. Again, these tracks can be customized and any music or message can be played. This is a perfect place to perhaps mention some specials, promote a new product or inform customers of potential problems that you may be experiencing.

Conference

Another great standard feature is the built in conference function of the PBX. You can have a private conference or allow outside callers to dial in and join the conference. Great for board meetings or for troubleshooting problems with a client and a third party.

Multi Branch Installations

Ahh… The beauty of technology.. Because the system is based on IP and not analog systems, all that is needed is a network or internet connection to link multiple branch offices together. Multiple PBX systems can be linked up all over the world, allowing for seamless transfer off calls throughout an organization. Using the ‘multibranch” option, will allow your company to save on internal communication costs and will present a more professional front when you can tell your customers that you will quickly transfer them to the Head Office… J

Call recording and monitoring

It can also record all or some of your calls depending on criteria set by the admin. A manager or owner may also want to listen in on calls without the other parties even knowing. Recorded calls can be retrieved via a user friendly web interface.

Reports

How we all do love reports J Our PBX makes it easy for a manager or owner to quickly see how many minutes are spent every day on calls simply by viewing the reports via the web interface or by printing them out and using the handy export function

Analog phone lines

Our PBX can be used along with normal Telkom telephone lines too. All that is needed is a special line card depending on the amount of incoming lines needed. Still, the best is to use VOIP technology for your lines. This allows you to plug your system in where ever you have an internet connection. Also, the savings over VOIP are real, not to mention that you will also save on the line card.
